Huawei Plans To Be “Technology-Ready” for 5G

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei has said it expects to launch its 5G network by 2020.

The technology will offer speeds up to 100 times faster than 4G, according to Huawei's executive vice president and chief operating officer of its LTE (4G technology) business unit Zhou Yuefang. He estimates a 5G network could achieve speeds of up to 10Gbps, compared to 4G's 100Mbps. Read more

O2 switches on its 4G services in London, Leeds and Bradford, with Vodafone beginning just in London; both will roll out to the same 13 cities before the end of the year. Read more

Firefox 26 To Include Touch Friendly Mode

Windows 8 users will finally be able to enjoy a touch friendly version of Firefox (for Modern UI) on their PCs and/or handhelds.

According to Mozilla's roadmap, Firefox 26 will include a “Metro Preview Release” build, which will be pushed to the Aurora channel on September 16 and then the Beta channel on October 28. Lastly, it will be officially released on December 10 along with Firefox 26.
